A fifth brother, Gummo, real name Milton (1897-1977), left the troupe before they moved to Hollywood.

In the second half of the film Chico is seen limping, due to a car accident in which his knee was injured.

The two opposing schools were called Darwin and Huxley.  Thomas Huxley was the biologist who promoted Charles Darwin’s Theory of Evolution.
