Notes by Leslie Halliwell from sources other than his Film Guide:

This film was surprisingly left out of the Guide until the 7th Edition, despite being included in the Filmgoer’s Companion, where LH calls it:

‘Eisenstein’s spectacular and exciting reconstruction of the Russian revolution, brilliantly photographed by Tisse.  The screen’s most persuasive re-creation of fact, and one of its most powerful pieces of propaganda.’
